Many ways to search in Dynamics 365

There are several ways in which you can query Dynamics 365 Data. Depending on the level and complexity of the search/filtering criteria, here is the list:

• Advanced Find
• Quick Search
• Categorised Search
• Relevance Search
• Filtering Records in Views
• Exporting to Excel

This video explains the use of Advanced Find in Dynamics 365 with an example of a search query that you can’t do with the other methods. Advanced find in Dynamics 365 is under-appreciated by Dynamics 365 users and this is why it is highlighted in this post.

Advanced Find allows business sales managers and marketing managers drill into company data to create up to date marketing lists, sales reports and an endless list of other reports. You can also export data to Excel and save your queries to re-use in the future.
